Pastors & Leaders

Pastors Jorge and Sylvia Vargas

Pastors Jorge & Sylvia Vargas are the founders and senior pastors of Freedom Center Church. Pastor Jorge has been in the ministry for nine years and has served in many areas of ministry. He was an usher, children's church teacher, head intercessor, cell group leader, praise & worship leader, Spanish pastor and youth pastor. Pastor Sylvia has served as a children's church teacher, women's leader, armor bearer, interpreter, cell group leader, youth pastor, was involved in missions and has been a public school teacher for eight years. Both Pastors Jorge & Sylvia are licensed and ordained through Harvest International Ministries and are in covering relationship with Pastor Tracy Harris, pastor of Family Word Church in Texarkana, Arkansas and president of Harvest International ministries.

Our vision for FCC is to see God's people walk in the promises of God and to know that we serve a living and unchanging God, who is the same yesterday, today and forever. We want people to truly live the life of freedom God intended for us and to know that when they enter FCC they leave restored, healed and free!

Associate Pastor Timothy Tharp
Associate Pastor Timothy Tharp

Pastor Tim Tharp is currently an associate pastor and elder at FCC. If anything ever needs to get done at FCC, Pastor Tim is sure to be the first to volunteer. He has been married to his wife, Maribel Tharp, for six years and have three lovely children. Pastor Tim has served in the ministry by running the sound and media department, teaching Sunday school, as an elder, youth leader & pastor. In his current position as associate pastor, he is running with our vision and helping carry FCC to the next level.

I can't wait to launch full time in the ministry. This will allow God to use me to better support my pastors and help fulfill the vision that has been placed on Freedom Center Church.

Associate Pastor Esmeralda Perez
Associate Pastor Esmeralda Perez

Pastor Esmeralda (Esmer) Perez is a passion-driven, on fire for God woman with a powerful testimony of being delivered from heavy emotional wounds. She has served as Pastor Sylvia's armor bearer, Sunday school teacher, youth pastor and is currently an associate pastor at FCC who is very dedicated and passionate about taking FCC to the next level.

My vision is to see the vision of my pastors fulfilled. A woman once said to me, "When you love the vision of your pastors you must embrace it. Once that vision is fulfilled God will fulfill yours." I want to see the captives free and the lost saved and live out Psalm 39:3, "My heart grew hot within me and as I meditated, the fire burned, then I spoke with my tongue."

Youth Pastor Elizabeth (Kiki) King
Youth Pastor Elizabeth (Kiki) King

Pastor Elizabeth "Kiki" King is BreakFree Youth's pastor. Pastor Kiki has a huge vision for the youth at FCC. Not only does she love youth but music. She is currently an elementary music teacher and gives private piano lessons. Pastor Kiki is also the keyboardist for the praise team and is full of anointing and determination.

I would love to see a fire burn within our youth: an ever-increasing passion for Christ. Through this ministry I expect to see our future leaders develop boldness for sharing Christ with others and a deeper maturity in their faith. My prayer is to see growth in BreakFree Youth, not simply in numbers, but in the quality of the relationship each member and leader has with our God.

Roschel Servantes - Praise & Worship Leader
Roschel Servantes - Praise & Worship Leader

Roschel Servantes is FCC's praise & worship leader. She and her husband Rudy have two boys. The love of music is pumping through their veins and there is no doubt God has placed Roschel and Rudy together to bring a powerful anointing to praise & worship. Roschel has sung all her life but it was for this season that God has released a special anointing of freedom and deliverance through her voice. Her desire is to take God's people to a place in worship they have never reached before.

Worship is responding to God for what He is and what He has done in our lives. It is our hope that the music and talent of FCC will connect people with our Savior and Creator in some way. Through music we will recognize the love, peace and strength that can only be found through Him.

Melissa & Rick Gomez - Couples Ministers
Melissa & Rick Gomez - Couples Ministers

Rick and Melissa Gomez are a true example of a unified couple and family. They have been married ten years and have four children. They are currently our couples ministers and truly have the heart and desire to see couples united, broken couples restored and a complete family unit worshipping together. They both serve as children's church teachers and are also on the praise team. This dynamic couple has a wealth of knowledge to impart into couples but above that an incredible anointing of healing, restoration and for the already strong marriage creative ideas to keep the flame burning.

We want the power of God to be so evident in our life that it draws couples to the ministry and to the church. Also, that God would use us to bring couples to a better understanding of what a marriage is and should be through the eyes of Christ. We want to see walls in marriages be broken and where there is division, unity.

Ricardo Rios, Sr. - Elder & Prison Minister
Ricardo Rios, Sr. - Elder & Prison Minister

Ricardo Rios, Sr. is currently an elder and a prison ministry liason for FCC. He is married to Mary Rios and his entire family is involved in the ministry. Brother Rick's desire is to take the gospel into the prisons and share the message that even though the men he ministers to are physically imprisoned they can be set free spiritually through the Word of God.

My prayer is that when these men are released through their encounter with the Lord they come out transformed and become contributing members of society.
